In the 80's we had all heard a story that took
place in the 60's about a woman who had put on her nightgown, put her hair in rollers and had gone to bed.
She woke up in a foxhole in Vietnam and
encountered a GI there. Whom she shared the Gospel with and brought to the Lord.
Then she woke up the next morning in her bed
and told her husband about the really strange dream she had had. That was the end of that.
20 years later, she was at a function where this
man came up to her and told her that he was that GI she had met in the foxhole, in her nightgown and rollers and had brought
to the Lord. He told her that he had been serving the Lord ever since.
Kings,Queens and Heads-of-State
In the early 90's I had what I thought was a
vision of my appearing in the study of a foreign dignitary and giving him a warning about his wayward ways.
He was very gracious.
Even though we did not speak each other's language,
we spoke in our own and heard in our own and yet understood each other as if the other spoke in our language.
The next day, I knew that this was not just a
dream, that I would be sent to warn this person.
I did 2 things. First, I asked God how I could
possibly get there and back.
He reminded me of the woman who appeared in the
foxhole and told me that as His angels had taken her and returned her they would do the same for me.
Second, I went through my pajama drawer
and got rid of anything that was less than presentable. I was not going to appear in holes and tatters.
Then a man in the church we were working in,
at the time, started looking at me really strangely.
He finally told me that he had had a vision of
me, my husband and himself in a very dangerous foreign country, and even though we had been attacked, I had gotten
through safely.
A few years later, I had what I thought was another
vision of a future occurance. This time I went back to this leader and gave him a very strict warning and told him that
since he had not heeded the other warnings that his time was up and that he would pay for his choices.
Not long after this, 2 things happened.
First, one of our partners told me about a dream/vision
she had had about me, herself and my husband. We were in a foreign country, being honored by the leaders of that country.
We were standing in a field while they stood before us in a semicircle, paying tribute to me.
The second, a friend suddenly started sending
emails from a dream and vision website for a few weeks then stopped sending them as abruptly as she had been sending them.
Among those emails was a vision that a man had
had, where he went to this same leader and gave him the warning that fit right between my first and second vision. THEN I
KNEW that I wasn't waiting to go. I had already GONE!!
How Did We Get Here?
In 2000, our son, my cousin and I were
in Alaska doing a job. As part of the job, we and our hostess and her three children went on top of a local mountain to do
some intercession for the region and the nations.
When we came back down, I drove us straight down
the road we had gone up on, UNTIL our hostess suddenly said, 'How did we get here?'
I asked her where we were. She told us that we
were going past the church that God had been telling me about the entire trip, that He wanted me to do intercession
around. But it had been moved and I didn't know where it was.
We got out and did the intercession, then went
back to her place, where she showed us on a map where God had taken our minivan with 7 people in it and placed it 5 miles
away from where we had been, on a parallel road to the one we had been on, bypassing the connecting S curve which we
ALL knew we had not travelled.
God's Assignments are Always Possible
There are other instances where God has
done this. But since I still don't know the reason why they happened I don't see any reason to mention them.
My point in sharing these things, is that when
God has called us to do something, He will provide the means for getting us there and back.
It's not for us to decide whether the job is
possible or not. Because if it is a job that God has assigned to us, it is a mission possible in HIS BOOKS even if it isn't
in ours.
But since it is His job assignment for us, it
is His job to make sure that we can get it done. And HE WILL!!!
